The city had a wave of 'needle spiking' in 2021
Fans of 24 Hours in A&E Nottingham were disgusted as the show focused on a wave of suspected needle spiking attacks in the city. The Channel 4 show, which aired earlier tonight at 9pm, followed three female university students who were all suspected victims as they sought treatment at the city's Queen's Medical Centre.
Kate, one of the three students, all of whom study in Nottingham, was rushed to resus after collapsing outside a nightclub. The 20-year-old stopped breathing normally and received CPR from a friend.Nurse Sarah, who treats Kate, also reveals her own experience of having her drink spiked when she was a student. Students Sarah and Pavni also meet in the urgent treatment department after attending due to concerns over being spiked with needles on a night out.
