47 of Yorkshire's most evil criminals jailed in 2022
As a big county with four police forces covering it, many magistrates courts, and five crown courts, Yorkshire sees a lot of crime. In an area so vast, with a huge population, its residents often find themselves reading about horrific offences that have been committed in their community - and this year has been no different.

Khan, 48, was found guilty of sexual assault following a trial at Southwark Crown Court. The court heard how the former Tory MP forced a 15-year-old boy to drink gin and tonic and asked him to watch pornography at a house party in Staffordshire in January 2008. He was jailed for 18 months. He lost an appeal against his conviction and sentence in November.Solomon Sanyas Sick predator Sanyas lay in wait for a woman to return home so he could rape her.
Sick Grayson, a self-proclaimed porn addict, will serve two halves of the sentence in custody before going before the Parole Board, who will decide if he is safe to be released. Following his release, he will be required to serve an extended four-year sentence. The "frenzied attack" committed by Soj was carried out on Bori and another women when they were asleep in their two separate rooms. Popular student Bori suffered 40 stab and slash wounds when she was attacked. Fanty and Yanbank will have to serve a minimum of 35 years for murder, possessing a firearm and ammunition and discharging a gun on three separate occasions and conspiracy to supply a controlled drug. Nkanyezi will have to serve a minimum of 32 years for attempted murder and the firearms and drugs conspiracies and possession of a prohibited weapon. Foote was handed 30 years detention for attempted murder, the firearms and drugs conspiracies and possession of a bladed article.
Hamad Hussain was sentenced to life imprisonment with a minimum term of 34 years for murder and committing a series of acts with intent to pervert the course of justice. He has already spent 273 days on remand so will serve 33 years an 92 days before being eligible for parole.Arbaz Khan, Mohammed Adil Hussain and Sheryar Khan Sheryar Khan was handed a 16-year sentence for the murder of Kian Tordoff in October last year. This was later increased to 19 years at the Court of Appeal.
The attack on the lone victim in Lower Viaduct Street sparked a major investigation by the Homicide and Major Enquiry Team who identified Sztojka as a suspect in the days after the attack. He was found guilty of two counts of rape following a trial at Leeds Crown Court.
