NSW Premier Dominic Perrottet made a “smart move” announcing he will increase the WestConnex highway’s speed limits to 90 km/hour as Labor continues to take the lead in state election polling, says Headline Advisory Director Andrew Carswell.

“I think it was purely designed … to get a front-page story and to get some momentum hitting in the last week,” Mr Carswell told Sky News host Sharri Markson.

“It cost them zero dollars so from that I think it was a smart little announcement, it was a smart decision from the Labor party to accept it as a policy as well going forward.”
