999 crews raced to a building after reports of a 'chemical smell'
Firefighters and cops raced to the area following reports of a strong chemical smell coming from a building in the area.It is understood that the smell was related to renovation work that was going on in the building.
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 6.28am on Thursday, March 28 to reports of a strong chemical smell coming from a building at Wingate Street, Wishaw. “Operations Control mobilised four fire appliances and firefighters ventilated all properties within the building.
“Three casualties were in the care of the Scottish Ambulance Service and crews left the scene at approximately 8.28am after ensuring the area was made safe.” A spokesperson for the Scottish Ambulance Service said: “We received a call from the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service at 6.33am today to attend an incident today in Wishaw.Readers’ comments: You are personally liable for the content of any comments you upload to this website, so please act responsibly.
