Rochester, N.Y. — The City of Rochester is preparing to close several city buildings on April 8, ahead of the expected surge of visitors coming to view the eclipse.The Loretta C. Scott Center for Human Services DRHS Administrative OfficesRochester Traffic Violations Agency OfficeRiverside and Mt. Hope Cemeteries The Public Safety Building will be open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The following R-Centers will be open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. with family-friendly eclipse activities planned starting at noon.Carter Street, 500 Carter St.Edgerton, 41 Backus St.Thomas P. Ryan, 530 Webster Ave. Emergency teams are increasing staffing on the day, and are encouraging everyone to plan ahead for avoidable emergencies.
