Nothing beats a winter walk in the Lake District
Brrr, it's definitely cold outside and I don't know if you're like me, but the thought of going out walking while it is cold does not seem appealing.
But the Lake District has that pull where you just can help but wrap up and get out and about to enjoy the views. For me, and like many others, Keswick is a magical place all year round, but the snow-topped fells make it look even nicer in winter. After a long, or short, walk in the Lakes nothing beats a cosy meal or drink in a pub by a roaring fire. For this week's winter walk that ends in a pub, we've chosen Walla Crag ending at the Bank Tavern pub in the middle of Keswick.Ideally placed in the middle of Keswick, The Bank Tavern offers a homely integrity during the winter months, and through summer, with the addition of a lively beer garden, an energetic character emerges.
Remember if you're getting out and about make sure you have the proper walking gear with you, you don't want to have to call on the help of mountain rescue because you weren't properly prepared.
