Motorists face long delays on the A1 this morning due to a crash involving two lorries. The road is closed in both directions near Colsterworth after reports a lorry has gone through the central reservation.
Traffic monitoring system Inrix reports the road is closed from the junction with the A151 for Colsterworth Services to Broadgate Road South Witham / Thistleton Turn Off, South Witham. It said: "A lorry has gone through the central barrier resulting in the road having to be closed in both directions."
Another HGV appears to be in a ditch by the side of the road. Emergency services remain at the scene and the road is likely to be closed for some time.Colsterworth Medical Practice is unable to open due to its staff being stuck in the A1 traffic. The practice shared a post on Facebook which reads: "Due to the accident on the A1 the surgery will be late in opening - staff are stuck in the traffic desperately trying to get there.
