Sean Dyche is masterminding an Everton revival with Abdoulaye Doucoure front and centre of the action
Abdoulaye Doucoure has hailed Sean Dyche for instilling “energy and confidence” into the Everton squad.
Doucoure bagged the second goal against Palace - his fourth of the campaign overall - and put in another energetic display in the engine room. The midfielder’s 49th-minute strike was his also first since penning a contract extension until 2025 earlier this month. "Everyone has been able to show their quality under the manager," he said. "Since he came in he has put a lot of energy and confidence in the team. I think we’ve tried to repay the faith he gives to us in the week. From a personal point of view, we have worked together well so far and I’m very happy.
Doucoure also acknowledged how scoring goals is not his forte but he feels able enough to contribute when needed. For context, the 30-year-old is just one goal behind last season’s tally despite playing 13 fewer games.
