Spider-Woman takes the spotlight in the sequel film to 2018's Oscar-winning Spider-Man animation.
Sony Pictures owns the copyright to the character and Spider villains, but loans them out to Marvel for their movies.
The industry event attracted about 100,000 people over three days, and the most ubiquitous costume spanning every age, gender and ethnic background was Spider-Man. One of them, eight-year-old Nathaniel, already has tickets to a screening and said he loved the character's origin story, superpowers and the 2018 movie's music and animations.
"Everything was flowing so beautifully between the different scenes and the action in a way you didn't feel like you were watching an animation."
