Three flood warnings and four flood alerts are in place across the region

A number of 'act now' flood warnings and separate flood alerts remained in force across Lancashire on Tuesday morning.

There are also four flood alerts, which mean flooding is possible, in place for parts of Preston, South Ribble and Padiham. A Met Office weather warning for rain is no longer in place for the region, easing fears of further torrential downpours.Roads were reported flooded across the county last night leading to a number of accidents.

He continued: “It’s a real west-east contrast during Tuesday. The brightest spells will be in the west and most especially the North West, whilst the Midlands, parts of northern and eastern England will be plagued by low cloud, outbreaks of rain at times and a strong wind – particularly strong around the coastal part of eastern England.
