ACTION 8 UPDATE: A reward of $5,000 is now being offered in the hopes of solving the murder of 52-year-old Yvette Carter of Montgomery.
Central Alabama CrimeStoppers says Montgomery City Councilman Oronde Mitchell has donated $1,000 and Montgomery County Commissioner Carmen Moore-Zeigler has also donated $1,000 to CrimeStoppers. In addition, CrimeStoppers has raised its reward from $1,000 to $3,000. On Saturday, February 11, 2023, at about 10:35PM, police and medics responded to a shooting in the 4900 block of Hatton Avenue, in the Southlawn community. They found Carter with a gunshot wound. She later died at the scene.Investigators say three suspects were seen exiting a small black sedan with no tint and factory rims before the shooting. The three subjects were wearing hoodies.
One person was seen walking from the car, wearing all black with a white or grey hood, black bottoms, and white shoes, while pulling a rifle from his pants, before the shooting.If you have information to help investigators, call CrimeStoppers at 215-STOP. You can remain anonymous.
