Padres pitching prospect Adam Mazur has a 7.11 ERA through first four starts at hitter-friendly Triple-A El Paso
The Pacific Coast League is putting Adam Mazur through the ringer. The Padres’ 23-year-old pitching prospect allowed four runs and did not record an out in the third inning in Triple-A El Paso’s 6-3 loss at Round Rock on Thursday. Mazur saw his ERA balloon to 7.11 through four starts following his promotion to Double-A San Antonio, where he had a 1.95 ERA over six starts. With El Paso, Mazur has allowed 15 runs on 21 hits, including four homers, and four walks.
Frisco 5, Mission 2: RHP Victor Lizarraga allowed five runs in 4 ⅔ innings in the start. RHP Ethan Routzahn threw 2⅓ scoreless innings and RHP Raul Brito threw two shutout innings. 2B Ripken Reyes went 2-for-4 with a double and a run scored and DH Juan Zabala went 2-for-4 with a double. C Brandon Valenzuela went 1-for-3 with an RBI and a walk.
Wisconsin 6, TinCaps 3: LHP Ryan Och allowed four runs in one-third of an inning after LHP Miguel Cienfuegos allowed two runs in seven innings in the start. C Ethan Salas and CF Homer Bush Jr. both doubled in runs. 2B Nerwilian Cedeño hit his third triple. LOW SINGLE-A LAKE ELSINORE Storm 4, Rancho Cucamonga 2: SS Leodalis De Vries went 1-for-2 with a double, two walks and a run scored. 1B Romeo Sanabria went 1-for-3 with two RBIs, a walk and a run scored.
Mariners 7, Padres 1: DH Lamar King Jr. went 2-for-3 with a run scored. CF Kashon Conliffe went 1-for-2 with a triple and two walks.
