Southampton will be looking to halt a four-game losing run this weekend when they take on Leeds United
Che Adams believes this weekend is set up perfectly for Southampton to bring the feel-good factor back to St Mary’s. Southampton started their Championship campaign strongly under Russell Martin, but their form has tailed off dramatically in September losing all four games to slip down the league ladder.
Leeds are flying high in confidence at present and arrive in Hampshire looking to extend their six-game unbeaten run under Daniel Farke and continue their rise towards the top of the table with promotion very much the target this season. Form ensures Leeds are the slight favourites with the bookmakers this weekend, too. However, Adams, who has three league goals to his name this season, sees this weekend’s fixture as an opportunity to turn things around with a strong showing against the Whites.
“The Middlesbrough game and the Ipswich game we should have at least taken a point. Positives to build on, it’s just sticking with it because it is going to be a long, long season. We’ve still got big teams to play and there’s no better team to play against at home at 12:30 on Saturday. “It’s a matter of sticking with us and coming through the hard bits because once we do it will be so nice and everyone will enjoy it.”
