Police said 23-year-old Tyrone Thompson was arrested in connection to the fatal hit-and-run in downtown Austin early Tuesday morning.

"The vehicle involvement resulted in having been involved in violent crimes and narcotics," the court document said. The court document said Thompson ran a red light at the intersection with Red River Street and hit two pedestrians. CBS Austin obtained Austin Police told CBS Austin late Thursday afternoon that "no pursuit was initiated" between APD and Thompson during this incident. They did not answer a question about the alleged "violent crimes and narcotics" mentioned.According to another court document, deputies with the Travis County Sheriff's Office and Bastrop County Sheriff's Office responded to another crash in Del Valle at 1:54 a.m.
