Some cities in Metro Manila have announced the suspension of afternoon classes at all levels of public and private schools on Thursday, Jan. 5, due to continuous rainfall and bad weather.
Since Quezon City follows a localized system for the suspension of classes, the schools that have announced class suspensions starting at 1 p.m.
Other areas that were placed under the yellow category were the provinces of Rizal, Bulacan, Pampanga, Bataan, Zambales, Tarlac, Nueva Ecija, and Quezon . The yellow warning indicates “light to moderate with occasional heavy rains.” There may also be possible flooding in low-lying areas and near river channels, according to PAGASA.According to the Department of Education ’s Department Order 37, series of 2022, onsite and online classes from Kindergarten to Grade 12 are automatically cancelled in areas where PAGASA issues a tropical cyclone wind signal alert, from Signal 1 to 5, or a yellow, red, and orange rainfall warning.
