Mountain rescue teams were called to rescue the casualty
Rossendale and Pendle Mountain Rescue Team were alerted by North West Ambulance Service to the incident at Lee Mill Quarry in Bacup . They were called to the scene at around 12.30pm on Thursday following reports of the casualty 'falling from height'.
In a statement issued last night , RPMRT said: "Around 12:30 on Thursday 14th November, the team were called out to assist the North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust with reports of someone having fallen from height at Lee Mill Quarry. The North West Air Ambulance Charity were en-route and the team were mobilised to the location.
"In addition to this the Manchester HART Team were also en-route to assist. After an initial assessment of the scene, a rope system was used along with our vacuum mattress and bell stretcher to extract the casualty.
