Joe Biden will be the first US President to address Australian parliament since Barack Obama delivered a meaningful speech marking 60 years of the Australia-US alliance in 2011.
The US President will make the address to federal parliament on the sidelines of the summit in May, the Labor caucus was told on Tuesday morning.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who will also attend the Quad meeting, is expected to appear at a community event in Parramatta during his visit, where he will meet with members of the Indian diaspora.Mr Biden will be the first US President to address the parliament since Barack Obama's meaningful speech marking 60 years of the Australia-US alliance in 2011.
There is an option to buy two more, but the purchase of the handful of either new or used submarines will need US congressional approval.
