Alec Stockton came alive when it mattered most, fueling Converge's late push in the fourth quarter to escape Meralco, 105-97, and keep their playoff hopes alive in the PBA Season 49 Governors' Cup on Wednesday at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium.
"Stockton broke a 94-all deadlock after drawing the sixth foul of Chris Newsome in the final 2:41 then made two free throws out of it, but Meralco regained a 97-96 lead after CJ Cansino buried three freebies of his own. Stockton then escaped the defense of Chris Banchero twice, first knocking down a stepback triple before completing a jumper to give the streaking Converge a four-point advantage.
