Andi Peters struggled to hold back tears on Good Morning Britain after a heartbreaking interview about a mother who lost her son due to the lack of a defibrillator.

During Tuesday's episode of Good Morning Britain, Andi Peters was visibly affected following a heart-wrenching interview with a mother who lost her son due to the absence of a defibrillator. The usually cheerful presenter struggled to maintain his composure as he switched to hosting a competition segment on the ITV breakfast programme. Broadcasting from Edinburgh, an emotional Andi managed to express: 'Slightly moved, I can't lie,' while trying to suppress tears.

Despite being visibly upset, he proceeded to tell viewers about the substantial cash prize on offer, his voice unsteady and eyes brimming with emotion. 'We've got an amazing price, we're in Edinburgh. It's £105,300. That's the money we're going to give away. It's a huge amount of money, it could change your life,' he conveyed to those watching at home. He continued: 'Take a look at Edinburgh, the sun is rising up this morning. Here, in this wonderful city. This competition is all about the phone, because if you win, I could be calling you live on the television, to let you know you've won the prize.' This poignant moment came after GMB had earlier been disrupted by breaking news, with a live update from Downing Street paused so that Ranvir Singh could provide viewers with urgent information. The TV host updated viewers on a significant earthquake that struck close to Shigatse, Tibet at around 9am local time (1am GMT), as reported by Manchester Evening News. The quake, which measured a robust 7.1 magnitude, impacted multiple countries, including Bangladesh, Nepal, India, Bhutan, and China, reports the Mirror. During the broadcast, the presenter revealed: 'And some breaking international news, at least 53 people have died and dozens others have been injured in a strong earthquake in Tibet.' She emphasised the quake's intensity, describing it as about seven on the Richter scale and noted that the epicentre was in proximity to Shigatse, often referred to as the 'holy city'
