The guest was overjoyed and reacted with disbelief

The Antiques Roadshow had viewers captivated on Sunday evening as one visitor discovered their modest £18 painting was actually worth a small fortune. During the show, which took place at Cromford Mills in Derbyshire , an attendee spoke about acquiring a job lot of prints and paintings for £18 six years prior, with the intention of only keeping a single print.

Addressing expert Lawrence Hendra, they were overjoyed to learn that the painting was estimated to be valued between £3,000 and £5,000, prompting a reaction of disbelief: "No, no, no! Okay, thank you, Lawrence!"In another segment of the episode, a different guest showcased a dazzling jewellery collection, including what she believed to be a piece of costume jewellery acquired for £200.

In total, Joanna estimated the entire collection's value at an astounding £25,000. Overwhelmed by the valuation, the guest exclaimed: "Oh never! Sorry, I nearly swore! Really? My goodness me!," and added in disbelief: "I just can't believe this. Crumbs, crumbs!" Earlier in the year, the 60-year-old presenter recounted to The Telegraph an unaired incident from the show that was deemed "too cruel", despite being "great television".
