Officers from Police Scotland raced to Madras Street in the city centre following reports of a 'disturbance' at around 3pm on Thursday, April 18. Pictures shared with the Record showed police with guns at the scene after the road was cordoned off.
A 37-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with the incident. He was due to appear at Inverness Sheriff Court on Friday, April 19.One person said: "There was a large police presence and fire appliances around Grant Street and Madras Street. Police were blocking off part of India Street and up to Anderson street was all taped off."
