ASDA is braced for a nightmare before Christmas as the struggling supermarket switches its IT system at the busiest time of the year.But it risks disaster if the new IT — which covers shelf prices, stock, tills and scanners — goes wrong at its most lucrative period.
Asda said it has already moved its warehouse systems and transferred its George fashion range to new IT with few problems. The firm’s owner Alphabet is coming under fire from regulators around the world regarding its monopoly and had fought to avoid the fine brought by the European Commission in 2017.
