SAN MATEO — An assault Friday morning in San Mateo ended in the victim shooting and injuring his attacker, police said.San Francisco man gets 11 years for shooting at postal worker
The incident happened around 7:55 a.m. near the intersection of 19th Avenue and Grant Street, according to the San Mateo Police Department. Police said the suspect drove a U-Haul box truck to where the victim had parked his car and the two got into an argument. At one point, the suspect retrieved a metal pipe from the truck and hit the victim in the head and arms, according to police.The suspect stopped attacking the victim, got back into the U-Haul and reversed toward the victim, nearly running him over and crashing into his car, according to police.
Police said the suspect was later found at a hospital in Palo Alto, where he remains in stable condition.An investigation is underway into the incident.
