The families of Barnaby Webber, Grace O'Malley-Kumar, both 19, and Ian Coates, 65, have claimed yet more worrying details about what they describe as Nottinghamshire Police’s failings and conduct

The mum of Nottingham attacks victim Barnaby Webber says she has been stopped from shaming police officers involved in a group where a "unforgivable" message detailing the horrific stabbings was sent. The families of Barnaby Webber, Grace O'Malley-Kumar, both 19, and Ian Coates, 65, have claimed yet more worrying details about what they describe as Nottinghamshire Police’s failings and conduct before, during, and after the killings on June 13 last year in a newly issued statement.

The message was written by another officer, but PC Gell forwarded the message to his wife and a friend, which he later said was “a mistake”. He received a final written warning after the hearing and was told he had shared information about the attacks in a text message and breached confidentiality standards.

The victims' families have contacted Home Secretary James Cleverly over their continued "grave concerns" and to express alarm at Nottinghamshire Police's use of a "non-disclosure" meeting when briefing members of the press. “We are very alarmed to learn that the members of the press present were made to sign a non-disclosure agreement," the statement added.
