The operator runs the Liverpool Lime Street to London Euston route
Transport Secretary Louise Haigh said she is watching Avanti West Coast 'like a hawk' and branded its performance as 'not acceptable'. The railway operator, which runs the Liverpool Lime Street to London Euston route as well as others between the capital and the North of England, Scotland and North Wales , has been criticised for cancellations, delays and timetable reductions in recent years.
However, Ms Haigh has said many times she is willing to expedite that process if performance is not up to standard. Avanti's contract to operate on the west coast of Britain currently runs until 2026, though it could last until 2029. The operator launched its new Evero Class 807 trains on the Lime Street to Euston route yesterday , increasing the number of services as a result. Evero 807001 departed Liverpool Lime Street at 9.
