A Lanarkshire charity has received a bumper boost of more than £11,000 thanks to the Homecoming show staged by Airdrie ballet star Reece Clarke.

Guide Dogs community fundraising manager Sandi Johnson said: “We are extremely grateful to be the charity beneficiary of Reece Clarke’s homecoming performances and would like to say a huge thank you to Reece, his Royal Ballet colleagues and to North Lanarkshire Council, who have given us this incredible opportunity to be part of such a special event.
Guide Dogs told how it costs £38,110 to provide all the expert training needed to transform a guide dog puppy into a fully working dog into a life-changing partnership. The 29-year-old studied at the Royal School of Ballet in London with all three of his older brothers in a unique family achievement – and the Airdrie performances saw him return to a stage he first graced aged just four.
