I stand with the councillors who voted against the motion and I am deeply disappointed in those who did not vote against it.Australians voted in 2017 to legalise same-sex marriage, so it is concerning to hear that a local council in western Sydney has voted to ban a children’s book on gay parenting from their libraries. Libraries do a magnificent job providing accessible, free reading material to all their residents who hold a wide range of differing religious and social views.
