Bangkok hotel fire sees one person killed after leaping to his death
AT least one person has died after leaping from a major mall complex engulfed in flames in Bangkok, Thailand today.
Images posted on social media showed the scale of the fire as flames touched the sky and smoke billowed from Bangkok's CentralWorld complex.The cause of the blaze is unknownThe cause and extent of the fire, which includes a hotel and office tower, is not known.The victim is said to have jumped from the upper floors of the tower in a frantic bid to escape the blaze. Distressing footage shows a man falling from the window where smoke is billowing out.
The fire broke out on the hotel's eighth floor during the city's rush hour and emergency vehicles reportedly struggled to make their way through the gridlocked traffic.The fire was reportedly brought under control more than an hour after it broke out at 6pm local time.
