Barbara Windsor's husband Scott says her 'frightening' Alzheimer's struggle has worsened as she forgets where she lives and that they're married
So far £322,000 has been raised from this morning's auction of 40 seats on a chartered plane from Farnborough to Amsterdam for the charity."This is for Dame Barbara and Scott . "We pulled together as a real family. The London Marathon was a real mean feat. We raised over £150,000 just from that alone. Dementia Revolution has now raised £3.5million in the last year.""If I go out for a training run and I come back she'll ask what I'm doing in Lycra leggings," he laughs. Ever since, Scott has done everything in his power to raise awareness of dementia while caring for his wife.Although she has been taking medication to help manage the degenerative brain disease, her memory loss and confusion grow steadily worse."The majority of us aren't equipped to deal with this situation.
