In response to a customer's inquiry on X (formerly Twitter), Barclays offered a sincere apology, stating, 'I’m really sorry for the inconvenience caused.'In a broader statement to customers, the bank explained the situation: 'We’re having some problems with our systems today and you may have trouble using some features in our app, online banking as well as payments in and out of your accounts.' The Down Detector website, which tracks online service outages, reported over 1,200 incidents indicating downtime for Barclays banking services within the past few hours. A Barclays spokesperson assured customers that the bank was 'working hard to fix the problem' and promised to notify them as soon as the issue was resolved.
