THE MOTHER of Stephen Lawrence says she does not forgive her son’s killers, almost 30 years after he was murdered in an unprovoked racist attack in London.the only way she would forgive her son’s killers is if they were to admit they are guilty – which she feels they will never do.
Baroness Lawrence says she thinks about Stephen every single day and believes the Metropolitan Police has not changed in the 30 years since her son’s murder. The pair were both found guilty of murder in a six-week trial in 2012, and are the only members of the gang that fatally stabbed Stephen to be convicted.
“Within the black community, how we’re treated, how crime’s investigated, we’re never seen as a group of people that should have justice,” she said. In September last year, an investigation was launched after The Daily Mail reported Norris had been sending pictures of himself from his prison cell in Dartmoor Prison in Devon, to his friends on the outside.
