A viewer was reportedly unhappy with a scene featuring a campervan
The BBC has reportedly issued an apology following a complaint about a scene from Escape to the Country that was alleged to have violated the Highway Code. The property show's last episode of Series 24, aired in August, took viewers to the Isle of Skye.
Denise and the couple were seen taking a break at the side of the road, sitting in camping chairs discussing their relocation. It's been alleged that there was concern it went against the Highway Code, which warns against parking on passing places on country roads. A local resident has reportedly criticised the BBC for a segment of its show, which they believe was conducted inappropriately. The resident posted on private Facebook group NC500 The Land Weeps, stating that while it was "slightly heartening" to see the BBC acknowledge their mistake, they felt the broadcaster "shouldn't have done this in the first place", reports the Mirror.
An email, allegedly from the BBC, states that it understands the resident's "concerns" regarding a segment on the show in which an interview with a couple was "conducted at the side of a road". The email continues: "You are of course correct that no matter how brief that filming was for, the Highway Code does advise that drivers should not park in passing places."
