'It's a tough decision.'
Top Gear has been ‘axed’ after nearly 50 years on screens BBC has reportedly made the decision to axe Top Gear after nearly 50 years following the horror crash that left Freddie Flintoff in hospital. The England cricket captain, 45, was hospitalised last December after he suffered facial injuries in an accident while shooting for the show at Dunsfold Aerodrome in Surrey. At the time, it was reported that he was ‘lucky to be alive’ after the horror incident at the test track in December.
’ Flintoff’s Top Gear co-hosts Paddy McGuinness and Chris Harris have not commented publicly on his crash, however the delay in a decision about the future of the show is said to have ‘irked’ production staff. The current season, also hosted by Paddy McGuinness and Chris Harris, was put on hold for several months The Sun also reported at least one is now planning to take legal action against the BBC for a loss of earnings.
