BBC Breakfast star Luxmy Gopal interrupted the broadcast for a breaking news announcement on Sunday morning as she spoke about the social media app Tik Tok.
During Sunday's BBC Breakfast, presenter Luxmy Gopal announced the breaking news that TikTok has been banned in America.
The segment then switched to BBC's technology correspondent Lily Jamali in San Francisco, who shared her experience with the app post-ban, saying: "Well when I open up the app, I get this notification. It says, 'Sorry, TikTok isn't available right now'. So, no cute cat videos or TikTok challenges. Just this notification."
BBC enthusiasts have been informed that the app was on a nine-month timeline to secure a sale, but has failed to do so. Lily added: "So, the app has gone dark, on schedule here on this Sunday."
