Four senior female BBC journalists have filed an appeal after an employment tribunal ruling that they could not sue the broadcaster on grounds of equal pay, despite previous settlements addressing only historical pay disparities.
Four senior female BBC journalists have filed an appeal after an employment tribunal ruled they could not sue the broadcaster on grounds of equal pay . Martine Croxall , Karin Giannone , Kasia Madera , and Annita McVeigh launched an employment tribunal against the BBC in 2020, claiming they had not been paid equally compared to male counterparts. The tribunal judge ruled in May that the women couldn't bring new equal pay claims since they had previously settled with the BBC .
The journalists argue that the settlements addressed only historical pay disparities and should not prevent them from challenging recent discriminatory pay practices
