Thoughts with these bereaved families and friends this Christmas
Tributes have been left this week to remember loved ones in Rossendale who have passed away before Christmas.
One of life's characters Roy was the eldest of three brothers born in Haslingden and later moving to Cloughfold. He began his working life at Rossendale Borough Council first as a painter and then on the Parks Department. Later in life he became a salesman for footwear cash and carry for Lambert Howarth and finally Kidderminster Footwear.
Jacqueline Mary Moran Mrs Jacqueline Mary Moran of Springfield Avenue, Bacup died in Pendleside Hospice on Saturday, December 17, aged 76 years. Stephanie Ann Ashworth Stephanie Ann Ashworth , of Coronation Grove, Staghills, Rossendale, died peacefully in Pendleside Hospice on December 14, aged 53.She grew up in Waterfoot and attended Newchurch Primary and Fearns school.
The family would like to thank Rossendale Hospice and Pendleside Hospice for the care and compassion given to Steph this last year and also to Dr Board and the Oncology team at Rosemere unit, Royal Preston Hospital and to the Reverend David Burrows. Family flowers only, donations in memory of Steph can be given for Rossendale Hospice via Hamers funeral service Rawtenstall.
Her funeral take place on December 30 at 11am at St James the Less RC Church, Burnley Road, Rawtenstall and will be conducted by Fr D Lupton. Family flowers only. Donations to Save the Children, Salvation Army.Funeral director: Dawn Winfield, Fred Hamer Funeral Services, Rawtenstall.
