Disabled people and households where children are living are more adversely impacted by this policy, the report warned. And families with children face higher penalties, with 27 per cent of households with minors facing a deduction of 21 per cent or more compared with 13 per cent of adult-only homes. They will receive this payment and later have these debts deducted from their benefits. Deductions can also be applied if someone has to repay money the Government has mistaken overpaid.
