Everton analysis from Connor O'Neill with the big talking points after the 2-2 draw at Sheffield United
Talk about being thrown in at the deep end. Just days after being chucked on against Doncaster Rovers in the League Cup, Beto was handed his first taste of Premier League action here.
However, with 20 minutes on the clock, you would not have thought that the forward was adjusting to life in English football. He was strong and had certainly given John Egan plenty to think about. One of the questions that followed Beto’s cameo in midweek was if he could do it in the Premier League after only playing against the side who, at the time, were bottom of League Two.
The centre-back played every minute of every Premier League game his side played last season. He was a mainstay and played a key role in preserving his side’s top-flight status. Plenty has been said about Keane’s performances so far this season, and he has certainly been on the receiving end of plenty of criticism, which means it is only fair that Tarkowski comes under the same scrutiny.
