Leeds Festival boss Melvin Benn chatted to us backstage at Bramham Park
Melvin Benn, managing director of Festival Republic, which oversees Leeds Festival and its sister event Reading Festival, spoke to LeedsLive backstage during this weekend’s event at Bramham Park.
We’ll bring you more on those proposed Leeds Festival changes when we know more. In recent years, we’ve seen the number of headline acts increase and the event become more environmentally focused. This year, Leeds Festival’s eco camp doubled in size. Melvin spent time across the weekend at Leeds Festival and the event in Reading. He said: “It is great to be here in Leeds. It is an event in my home county. So, I’m always delighted to be here. I feel at home at Reading but I feel at home at Leeds. It is the same music but a different crowd. The crowds are similar but a little different.”
