Council refuse workers had been due to walk-out for eight days on Wednesday in a row over pay.
Bin strikes across Scotland have been suspended as trade unions ask members to vote on an improved pay deal.
But Unite announced today it had suspended its planned strikes while it ballots its members. The GMB union is expected announce its own suspension later today.A breakthrough was reached last week when the Scottish Government made additional funds available to Cosla, which represents council leaders and negotiates with unions.
The new deal would see all council workers get a rise of least 3.6 per cent, with the lowest-paid receiving an extra 5.63 per cent, or £1292. Katie Hagmann, Cosla's resources spokeswoman, previously said she hoped the strikes would now be suspended while unions put the offer to their members.
