Blackburn Rovers fans have shared their best memories after the Scot called time on his career
The defender became a fans' favourite at Ewood Park after signing in the summer of 2016. Mulgrew played an instrumental role in helping Tony Mowbray's side earn promotion from League One, scoring the goal that secured their Championship return away at Doncaster Rovers.
The 37-year-old ended his career in native Scotland with Dundee United, making 24 appearances last term whilst being capped 44 times for his country. He has now announced his retirement, thanking Rovers amongst the seven other clubs he turned out for. "It’s not an easy decision as playing football is all I’ve known," he said. "Firstly, I’d like to thank my family and friends for all your support, belief, loyalty and love you have given me over the last 21 years. You all had to make sacrifices along with me to follow my dream.
