Two people were noted to be sleeping rough in Blackburn and Darwen this winter after a period of three days with no one on the streets
The number of rough sleepers on Blackburn and Darwen's streets dropped to zero for three days in early December.
Cllr Talbot was speaking to the board’s meeting on Thursday night as it confirmed the receipt of two Whitehall grants worth more than £1.6million to tackle the problem. They are £802,400 under the Rough Sleeping Initiative and £881,770 under the Rough Sleeper Accommodation Programme .The council has also brought back 10 special pods to protect the borough’s homeless in the grounds of Shadsworth Leisure Centre for the third year running.
