The cause of the blaze at Riverside Stadium was determined to be deliberate ignition

The fire broke out at Institute FC's former home ground, Riverside Stadium on the Glenshane Road in Drumahoe, shortly after 9pm on October 26.

Institute FC shared a video of the blaze on their social media on Wednesday evening, adding: "A sad sorry sight at The Riverside tonight." Last year, Derry City and Strabane Council announced the stadium would be demolished and returned to a greenfield, after a public consultation took place. "As enquiries into the circumstances of the fire continue, anyone with information, including dashcam or other video footage, is asked to contact police on 101, quoting reference 1966 of 26/10/23.
