Wiggles founder Anthony Field is a diehard Wests Tigers fan but his heart lies with Balmain.

The Wests Tigers were formed in 2000 as a joint venture club between the Balmain Tigers and Western Suburb Magpies but many of the club’s fans – including Field – are still attached to the original teams.

If the blue Wiggle did become financially able to purchase the club he would still have to buy out the Magpies as the Western Suburbs club holds 90 per cent of the joint venture’s NRL license. “Anthony Field I will say this is a true fan like as fanatical as you get. You spend some time with Anthony and you want to ask him about something else happening in the world no it’ll keep going back to the Tigers,” he told SEN radio on Thursday.

“It’s absolutely beautiful. In America, they respect the jumper. You could still have sponsors and look after them,” he said.
