The Bank of the Philippine Islands says it is already working to reverse the duplicate transactions after some of its clients' automated teller machines , cash accept machines deposits, and point of sale and e-commerce debit transactions during the New Year holidays were double posted. The transactions were made from December 30 to December 31, 2022, Rizal Day and New Year’s Eve respectively. “[P]lease be informed that we expect correction of the duplicate transactions within the day,” BPI said in a supplementary advisory. “The Bank already identified the root cause of the operational error and committed to reverse the erroneous transactions and restore mobile and internet banking services the soonest possible ,” it said.
