It's a beautiful second half to the weekend. We begin the day with plenty of blue skies and sunshine. Clouds begin to develop and mix with sunshine during the afternoon. A warm southwest breeze 15 to 25 miles per hour, with gusts to 30 miles per hour, will boost temperatures into the 70s this afternoon.
cold front approaches late evening from the north and moves south into the Valley. Warm air and strong winds aloft may lead to isolated severe thunderstorms. The highest threat is north where there is an Enhanced Risk outlook across northern counties. That is where we could see greatest chance for severe storms. Area’s south are in a Slight Risk followed by a Marginal Risk where strong to severe storms are still possible, but dynamics will weaken as the night goes on.
