Former Glentoran starlet Francis Turley scores in the Hoops friendly win over Queen's Park
Brendan Rodgers has hailed the "natural instinct" of Belfast teenager Francis Turley after he bagged a debut goal in the friendly win over Queen's Park on Wednesday night.
Northern Ireland youth international Turley was one of the Hoops second half substitutes against Queen's Park and he took his chance with aplomb. The 18-year-old showed all his striking prowess slotting home Celtic's final goal in a 6-4 win. “There were some pleasing moments in the game as well," Rodgers told Celtic TV after the game. "None more so than in the second half with young Francis Tuley coming into the game.
Turley signed a three-year deal with Celtic in 2022 after joining from Glentoran. The JD Academy product was the subject of interest from several cross-channel clubs.
