Celtic won their second pre-season friendly against the formidable Manchester City on Tuesday, and two former Citizens stars have praised the performance of the Scottish champions
Manchester City stars Joleon Lescott and Steve Howey are in agreement that Celtic's performance in Tuesday's pre-season friendly was far superior to the current Premier League champions.
"So that’s important the fact that they’ve been able to experience different players and for a lot of them this will be the highest level of competitive opponent that they have faced. "He’s dangerous and he gives anybody a hard time. I think if he comes across fullbacks, week in week out, who’s fit he would still give them a hard time and give players a hard time in the Premier League. He’s a good player and also he’s obviously caused some problems."
"Physically it was a step up for us but also tactically because you’ve got to be so concentrated and press in the right moments because you can’t always press or else you end up running more.CELTIC are Kings of Scotland again after winning the League and Scottish Cup Double. It includes fascinating features on Rodgers, skipper Callum McGregor, marvellous Matt O'Riley and goalie Joe Hart.
"What I’ve been really impressed with in the games is that we’re making the last step much better. The guys are starting to get in and make the last step, win the ball and disrupt to bring a bit of chaos to the game."
