Kelly and Dave Williams, who got hitched at Gretna Green, shunned a traditional three-tier cake for one that celebrated his love of the chain bakery.
A bride surprised her Greggs-mad groom with a foot-long sausage roll wedding cake - to honour his lunch-time obsession that sees him scoff £800-worth of the savoury treats a year. Kelly and Dave Williams got hitched at Gretna Green in Dumfries and Galloway on July 14.
Fun pictures show the ultra-realistic, tanned 12-inch 'sausage roll' sponge peeping out from a 'Greggs wrapper', flanked by six breakfast roll cupcakes. The barmaid said it went down a treat with everyone who attended the intimate celebration, especially with her 42-year-old sales rep hubby who said it was "perfect".
Greggs-mad Dave, who forks out £15 a week on lunches from the chain, was thrilled with the themed cake. Dave said: "It was a fantastic idea. It was absolutely amazing, picture perfect. "I just love the sausage rolls. I'm a big sausage roll fan and it’s reasonably priced. I don't take myself too seriously and I thought it was a great opportunity for a picture, particularly to show the guys at work who give me stick. The wedding as a whole was low key mainly due to me hating to be the centre of attention and the cake was the perfect twist to a quiet event."
