An ugly former sewage plant in Brisbane’s west is being recycled into a $22 million family parkland.

Archerfield Wetlands District Park, described by the team delivering it as one of Brisbane’s hidden gems, is planned to open in early 2024. “Under the City Deal there is the $40 million Resilient Rivers project to rehabilitate the upper catchment of the Brisbane River,” Schrinner said.“It supports keeping the rich agricultural soil staying in the Lockyer River and not being washed down into Moreton Bay.
